Title

N.J. climbers explore lesser-known mountains

Body

Hiking New Jersey's peaks over 1000 feet

Pochuck Mountain and Ilgenstein Rock don't have quite the same mystique as K2 or Kilimanjaro, but the New Jersey 1K Club's aim is to conquer the Garden State's loftiest peaks, all 52 that rise more than 1,000 feet above sea level.

[TC connection: Eric Koppel, one of the founders of the 1K Club, is a Trail Conference maintainer. He works on the Overlook Rock Trail in West Milford, NJ.]
